This technique helps you remember your strengths so you can use them when working towards your goals and when you reach a setback.

SELECT A STRENGTH YOU WANT TO LEAN ON MORE OFTEN. If you’re having trouble naming a strength, the previous technique can help with this!

PICTURE TIMES WHEN YOU’VE USED THIS STRENGTH. What was I doing?

How did it feel?

What was the impact?

DEVELOP A POSITIVE STATEMENT. This will help remind you of your strength—­for example, I am strong, My humor is my greatest asset, or With my hopefulness, I can accomplish anything.

WRITE THE STATEMENT DOWN AND REFLECT ON IT OFTEN. You might choose to say it aloud each morning, to remind yourself to lead with your strengths throughout the day. You might decide to think about it at certain key moments, such as before or after you step on the scale or after you’ve eaten more than you planned.
